Fairbanks Ranch
An upscale community located near Del Mar and Rancho Santa Fe, Fairbanks Ranch is named after Douglas Fairbanks, one of the first movie stars. The community consists of custom built estates and caters to families. Fairbanks Ranch has one public and one private elementary school, 40 acres of open space, a small shopping center, and fenced horse trails. This gated community is separated by the North Gate and South Gate divided by San Dieguito Road which leads to the community of Santaluz. The north side is the older portion of the development whereas the southern is newer and home to the former Joan Kroc estate of the McDonald's fortune which is the community's largest private residence.
